Medicube Red Acne Succinic Acid Peel is a 21% succinic acid rinse-off treatment designed for one minute on the skin. That combination — high concentration, very short contact — is the entire design principle. It is a "short-contact therapy" approach borrowed from dermatology: deliver a strong active briefly, then remove it, so you get the benefit without the prolonged exposure that causes irritation.

Why 21% is not as alarming as it sounds

A 21% acid concentration would be aggressive in a leave-on product. In a formula rinsed off after 60 seconds, it behaves very differently.

Short-contact therapy is a well-established dermatological approach — most familiar from short-contact benzoyl peroxide protocols. The reasoning is that active ingredients begin working on contact, while irritation is largely a function of duration. Applying something potent for a minute and then removing it captures much of the benefit and little of the downside.

It also means the concentration on the label is not directly comparable to a leave-on serum. A 21% one-minute peel is not "seven times stronger" than a 3% leave-on toner — they are different things entirely.

Why succinic acid rather than salicylic

Succinic acid is a dicarboxylic acid produced by fermentation. It is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, mildly keratolytic and sebum-regulating — so it addresses breakouts from several directions without relying on aggressive exfoliation.

That matters particularly for medium and deeper skin tones, where harsh acne treatments frequently trade a spot for a dark mark. An active that calms while it clears reduces that risk.

    How to use it

    1. Cleanse and pat your skin dry.
    2. Apply 2 drops to the whole face or to areas of concern, avoiding eyes and lips.
    3. Massage gently for 1 minute. Do not extend the time thinking it will work better — the short contact is the point.
    4. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
    5. Follow with a light moisturiser, and sunscreen every morning.

    Frequency and combining

Start at two to three times a week. Some oily skin types build to more frequent use, but this is a treatment step, not a daily cleanser.

Use only one exfoliating product per session:

Which Red succinic product should you choose?

    Product Format Best for
Red Acne Succinic Acid Peel 1-minute rinse-off, 21% An intensive weekly reset for congested skin
Red Succinic Acid Serum Leave-on, daily Ongoing breakout control
Red Succinic Acid Peeling Pad Pad, 2–3×/week Exfoliation with the same active
Azelaic Acid 16 BB Calming Serum Leave-on, daily Breakouts and post-blemish marks

The peel and the serum work well together — peel occasionally, serum daily. The peel and the pads overlap and do not need to be combined. Browse the complete Medicube range at EmartGCC.

    Frequently asked questions

How do you use the Medicube Red Acne Succinic Acid Peel?

Apply 2 drops to clean, dry skin, massage gently for one minute, then rinse with lukewarm water. Follow with moisturiser and, in the morning, sunscreen.

How long should I leave it on?

One to two minutes, no longer. The formula is designed around brief contact — leaving it on will not improve results but will increase the chance of irritation.

    Is 21% too strong?

Not in a product rinsed off after a minute. Irritation depends heavily on duration, and short-contact therapy is a recognised dermatological approach. Start twice a week and see how your skin responds.

How often can I use it?

Two to three times a week to begin with. It is a treatment step rather than something for daily use.

Can I use it with the peeling pads or serum?

The serum, yes — peel occasionally, serum daily. The pads, no, at least not in the same session; they overlap heavily and combining them over-exfoliates.

What should I use after it?

A light, non-active moisturiser. Skin is freshly exfoliated, so avoid layering retinoids or other acids the same evening.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

Succinic acid is among the gentler blemish actives, but 21% is still substantial. Patch test first, start once a week, and keep strictly to one minute.

    Do I need sunscreen?

Yes. Any exfoliating treatment leaves fresh skin at the surface, and in Kuwait's UV levels sunscreen also prevents breakouts leaving lasting dark marks.
