Medicube Red Acne Body Peeling Shot is a 110g leave-on body exfoliant built on a multi-acid blend rather than a single acid. It is the treatment step in Medicube's body range — the product that stays on the skin and does the work a body wash cannot.

Why a leave-on product changes the result
This is the important distinction between this and the body washes in the range. A wash has under a minute of contact with your skin before it goes down the drain. A leave-on treatment stays on for hours.
For acid exfoliation, contact time is close to everything. That is why, if you are buying one product for body acne or rough, bumpy skin, this is the one that will actually move the needle — and why we recommend it alongside the Red Acne Body Wash rather than instead of it.
The four acid families
Published ingredient lists for Medicube's red body peel products show a blend spanning several acid types rather than relying on one:
- AHAs — lactic and glycolic acid. Water-soluble, working at the surface to loosen the bonds between dead skin cells. This is what smooths rough, bumpy texture.
- BHA — salicylic acid. Oil-soluble, so it gets inside clogged pores. This is the one that targets the actual breakouts.
- PHA — gluconolactone. A larger molecule that penetrates more slowly, making it gentler while still exfoliating and holding water.
- LHA — capryloyl salicylic acid. A slower-acting relative of salicylic acid that works close to the surface.
Why blend them? Because a single acid at a high concentration is harsher than several acids at moderate concentrations that work at different depths. The combination reaches surface texture, pore congestion and the layers between, without any one ingredient having to be pushed to an irritating level.
The formula also includes soothing ingredients — centella, panthenol, allantoin, licorice and willow bark — which are there to offset the acid load rather than as headline actives.
A note on what else is in it
These formulas typically contain alcohol and several essential oils, including peppermint, rosemary and tea tree. The alcohol helps the product dry down quickly, which matters for something applied under clothing. The essential oils provide the characteristic cooling, medicinal scent.
Both are worth knowing about. If your skin is sensitive or you react to fragrance, this is a formula to patch test properly — on a small area, for a few days — before applying it across your back or chest. Ingredient details can vary between versions and batches, so it is always worth reading the box when it arrives.
How to use it
- Shower and dry your skin completely. Applying acids to damp skin increases both penetration and irritation.
- Apply a thin layer to the affected areas — back, chest, shoulders or upper arms.
- Let it dry fully before dressing.
- Leave it on. This is not rinsed off.
- Moisturise once it has absorbed, if your skin feels dry.
Starting frequency: two to three times a week, in the evening. Build up only if your skin stays comfortable. Many people never need more than three times a week.
Important precautions
- Do not use it immediately after shaving or waxing, or on broken, sunburnt or irritated skin. Wait at least 24 hours.
- Do not layer it with other exfoliating products in the same session. If you use an exfoliating body wash, alternate days.
- Use sun protection on treated areas that will be exposed. Acid exfoliation increases sun sensitivity, and shoulders and upper arms are frequently uncovered.
- Body only. This is formulated for thicker body skin and is too strong for the face.
More is not better
The most common mistake with body acids is using them daily from the start, on the reasoning that if some works, more works faster. Over-exfoliated skin becomes red, tight, shiny and more prone to breakouts — the opposite of the goal. If that happens, stop for a week, use a plain moisturiser, then restart less often.
Where it fits in the Medicube body range
| Product | Role | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Red Acne Body Peeling Shot | The treatment step for body acne | Leave-on |
| Red Acne Body Wash 2.0 | Daily cleansing alongside it | Rinse-off |
| Kojic Acid Turmeric Body Peel Shot | Marks left after breakouts clear | Leave-on |
| Kojic Acid Turmeric Vita Brightening Body Wash | Daily washing for tone rather than acne | Rinse-off |
Wash plus peeling shot is the effective pairing for active body breakouts. Once the breakouts settle and only dark marks remain, switch the treatment step to the Kojic Acid Turmeric Body Peel Shot. For facial breakouts, the Red Succinic Acid Serum is the equivalent. Browse the complete Medicube range at EmartGCC.
Frequently asked questions
Do I rinse it off?
No. This is a leave-on treatment — that is the entire point of it. Apply it to clean, dry skin and let it absorb. The extended contact time is what makes it more effective than an acid body wash.
How often should I use it?
Start with two to three times a week in the evening, and increase only if your skin stays comfortable. Daily use is unnecessary for most people and is the usual cause of over-exfoliation.
Can I use it with the Red Acne Body Wash?
Yes, and together they are the most effective combination in the range — the wash cleanses, this treats. Just avoid using other exfoliating products in the same session on top of it.
Can I use it on my face?
No. It is formulated for body skin, which is considerably thicker and more tolerant. Using it on your face risks significant irritation.
Can I use it after shaving?
Not immediately. Wait at least 24 hours. Freshly shaved or waxed skin has a compromised surface, and applying acids to it will sting badly and can cause real irritation.
Do I need sunscreen with it?
On any treated area that will be exposed to sun, yes. Acid exfoliation increases sun sensitivity, and shoulders and upper arms are often uncovered. Covered areas like the back under clothing are less of a concern.
My skin is red and stinging — what do I do?
Stop using it for about a week, keep to a plain moisturiser, and let your barrier recover. Then restart at a lower frequency. Persistent stinging is a sign of over-exfoliation, not of the product working.
Why does it contain several different acids instead of one strong one?
Because acids of different sizes and solubilities reach different depths. A blend at moderate concentrations addresses surface texture and pore congestion together, with less irritation than pushing a single acid to a high strength.
How long before I see results?
Texture often improves within two to three weeks. Breakouts take longer — give it six to eight weeks of consistent use before judging it, since body skin turns over more slowly than facial skin.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
With real caution. It is a potent multi-acid formula that also contains alcohol and essential oils. Patch test a small area for several days before applying it more widely, and consider a gentler option if you react.
Buying Medicube in Kuwait
EmartGCC supplies 100% original Medicube with delivery across Kuwait, usually next day, cash on delivery available and a 14-day return window on unopened items. Store it away from heat and direct sunlight, and keep the cap closed — the alcohol content evaporates and the acids work best in a stable formula.
