Medicube Deep Vita C Ampoule 2.0 is a high-strength brightening ampoule built on 14.5% pure vitamin C (ascorbic acid), buffered with allantoin to keep it tolerable. Pure ascorbic acid at this concentration is the most researched form of topical vitamin C there is — it targets dark spots, post-blemish marks and general dullness. Medicube reports a 9.1% reduction in dark spots after one week of use. This is a potent product, and using it correctly matters more than with most serums.

Why pure ascorbic acid — and why the percentage matters
Vitamin C appears in skincare in many forms. Derivatives such as sodium ascorbyl phosphate or ascorbyl glucoside are gentler and more stable, but they must convert within the skin before they do anything. L-ascorbic acid is the active form itself — no conversion required, and it is the version with by far the deepest body of research behind it for brightening and antioxidant protection.
The trade-off is stability. Pure ascorbic acid oxidises when exposed to air, light and heat, and as it oxidises it loses potency and turns yellow, then amber, then brown. Concentration matters too: research generally finds benefit rising up to around 20%, with irritation rising alongside it. At 14.5%, this sits in the effective range while staying more tolerable than the highest-strength formulas.
Allantoin is in the formula for exactly that reason — it is a well-known soother included to offset the sting that high-percentage vitamin C can cause.
Storage in Kuwait's climate
This deserves emphasis here more than almost anywhere. Heat is the fastest way to destroy vitamin C. A bottle left on a sunny bathroom shelf, or in a car for an afternoon, can oxidise in days. Keep it in a cool, dark cupboard — many people store vitamin C in the fridge. If the liquid has turned deep yellow or brown, it has oxidised and is no longer doing much; an oxidised formula will not harm you, but it will not brighten either.
How to use it
- Use it in the morning. Vitamin C works alongside sunscreen as an antioxidant, so daytime is where it earns its place.
- Cleanse and apply toner first, then let the skin settle.
- Apply 2–3 drops across the face and neck, avoiding the immediate eye area.
- Pat gently until absorbed — do not rub.
- Follow with moisturiser, then sunscreen. Sunscreen is not optional with this product.
Introducing it safely
If you have never used a high-strength vitamin C, start every other morning for the first two weeks and build to daily once your skin is comfortable. A brief tingle on application is common; stinging, redness or persistent burning is not — reduce frequency if that happens.
Do not layer it with acid exfoliants or retinoids in the same session. Use vitamin C in the morning and save retinoids for the evening. On nights you use Zero Pore Pad 2.0, keep them well apart.
What to pair it with
Layer Triple Collagen Toner 4.0 underneath to buffer and hydrate, and PDRN Pink Peptide Serum afterwards if your skin wants extra calming. For the same brightening goal in a gentler, overnight format, the Kojic Acid Turmeric Night Wrapping Mask is a good partner on alternate days.

Frequently asked questions
What percentage of vitamin C is in the Medicube Deep Vita C Ampoule?
The 2.0 formula contains 14.5% pure vitamin C in a water-based ampoule. That places it in the high-strength category — effective for dark spots, and strong enough to warrant gradual introduction.
How do you use the Medicube Deep Vita C Ampoule?
Apply 2–3 drops to clean, toned skin in the morning, avoiding the eye area, and pat until absorbed. Follow with moisturiser and sunscreen. Start every other day if you are new to strong vitamin C.
Can I use it every day?
Yes, once your skin has adjusted. Begin with alternate mornings for two weeks, then move to daily if there is no irritation. Some sensitive skin types are more comfortable staying at three or four times a week.
Morning or night?
Morning. Vitamin C provides antioxidant protection that complements sunscreen during the day, and using it in the morning keeps it separated from evening retinoids.
Why has my ampoule turned yellow or brown?
It has oxidised through exposure to air, light or heat. Oxidised vitamin C is not dangerous but has lost most of its brightening power. Store it somewhere cool and dark, close it tightly, and use it within a few months of opening.
Can I use it with retinol or exfoliating acids?
Not at the same time. Vitamin C in the morning, retinoids or acids in the evening. Combining strong actives in one session is the most common cause of a damaged skin barrier.
Will it sting?
A mild, brief tingle is normal at this concentration, which is why allantoin is included. Genuine stinging, burning or lasting redness means you should use it less often or apply moisturiser first as a buffer.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
It can be, with care. Start once or twice a week, apply over a layer of moisturiser to buffer it, and build slowly. If your skin is highly reactive, a gentler vitamin C product in the range is the better starting point.
Do I really need sunscreen with it?
Yes. Vitamin C is treating pigmentation, and unprotected sun exposure creates pigmentation faster than any serum can fade it. Without daily sunscreen you are working against yourself.
