Medicube Kojic Acid Turmeric Peel Shot is an 80ml facial peeling treatment combining kojic acid and turmeric with a multi-acid blend — gluconolactone, salicylic acid and LHA. It is the face version of the peel shot format, and it does considerably more than the brightening cleanser or toner in the same family.
Medicube Kojic Acid Turmeric Peel Shot at a glance
| Size | 80 ml |

Face or body — make sure you have the right one
Medicube makes two Kojic Acid Turmeric peel shots and they are not interchangeable:
- This 80ml version is for the face.
- The 280ml Body Peel Shot is for knees, elbows and body skin, which is thicker and more tolerant.
The sizes make the difference obvious: 80ml for a face, 280ml for a body. Do not use the body version on your face.
Why a peel shot does more than the cleanser or toner
The Kojic Acid Turmeric family runs from a cleanser through a toner and pads to this peel shot. They are not equivalent products, and the difference comes down to contact time and acid load.
A cleanser is rinsed away in thirty seconds. A toner is mild and daily. This peel shot stays on the skin and carries three different exfoliating acids, which is why it is the product in that family that genuinely shifts texture and tone — and also why it needs more care.
The three acids and what each does
- Gluconolactone (PHA) — a large, slow-penetrating molecule. It exfoliates gently at the surface while also holding water, which makes it one of the mildest acids available.
- Salicylic acid (BHA) — oil-soluble, so it works inside congested pores.
- Capryloyl salicylic acid (LHA) — a slower-acting relative of salicylic acid that works closer to the surface on texture.
Using several acids at moderate strength, working at different depths, is gentler than pushing one acid to a high concentration — the same sensible approach used in the body peel.
The brightening side
Kojic acid interferes with pigment production, turmeric root extract calms and comforts, and niacinamide evens tone and supports the barrier. Exfoliation and brightening work well together here: clearing dull surface cells lets the brightening ingredients reach skin that can actually use them.
An honest warning about the fragrance
This is the one thing to know before buying. The ingredient list is unusually heavy with essential oils and fragrance compounds — orange flower, grapefruit peel, bergamot, spearmint and litsea cubeba oils, along with declared allergens including limonene, linalool, citral, citronellol, geraniol, farnesol and menthol.
That is a long list, and citrus oils in particular are a common cause of irritation on skin that is already being exfoliated. It gives the product its fresh, spa-like scent, which many people enjoy.
But if you have sensitive, reactive or rosacea-prone skin, this is not the right product for you. Choose the gentler Resurfacing Toner or a fragrance-free brightening serum instead. We would rather lose the sale than have you react to it.
How to use it
- Patch test first, on the jawline, for a few nights — sensible with any multi-acid product, essential with one this fragranced.
- Apply to clean, dry skin in the evening.
- Use a thin layer, avoiding the eye area and any broken skin.
- Follow with a simple moisturiser.
- Sunscreen the next morning, without fail.
Frequency: two to three times a week to start. Do not use it on the same night as other exfoliants or retinol — alternate instead.
The rule that keeps this working
Multi-acid products are where over-exfoliation usually begins. If your skin becomes red, tight, shiny or unusually reactive, stop for a week, use a plain moisturiser, and restart less often. More frequent use does not brighten faster; it damages the barrier, and a damaged barrier looks duller, not brighter.
Where it fits the Kojic Acid Turmeric range
| Product | Role | Strength |
|---|---|---|
| Kojic Acid Turmeric Peel Shot (80ml) | The exfoliating treatment step | Strongest |
| Kojic Acid Turmeric Niacinamide Serum | Daily brightening treatment | Strong |
| Kojic Acid Turmeric Pads | Convenient exfoliating swipe | Medium |
| Resurfacing Toner | Gentle daily step | Mild |
| Toning Cleanser | Cleansing step | Mildest |
Do not use the peel shot and the pads on the same night — pick one exfoliating product per evening. Browse the complete Medicube range at EmartGCC.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the face or body version?
Face. The 80ml is the facial peel shot; the 280ml Body Peel Shot is for knees, elbows and body skin. Do not use the body version on your face — body skin is thicker and more tolerant.
How is it different from the toner or pads in the same range?
Contact time and acid load. A cleanser rinses off in seconds and a toner is mild and daily. This peel shot stays on the skin and carries three exfoliating acids, so it is the product in the family that actually shifts texture and tone — and the one that needs the most care.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
No, and we would rather be direct about it. Beyond the acids, the formula contains a long list of citrus and mint essential oils with declared allergens including limonene, linalool, citral and geraniol. On sensitive, reactive or rosacea-prone skin that combination is likely to cause problems. Choose the Resurfacing Toner instead.
How often should I use it?
Two to three times a week in the evening to start. Never on the same night as other exfoliants or retinol — alternate nights instead.
Do I need sunscreen with it?
Yes, without exception. Acid exfoliation increases sun sensitivity, and using a brightening product without daily sunscreen undoes your progress. In Kuwait's UV levels this is non-negotiable.
Can I use it with retinol?
Not on the same night. Alternate — retinol one evening, this on another — and give your skin recovery nights in between while it adjusts.
My skin is red and tight after using it. What should I do?
Stop for a week, keep to a plain moisturiser, and let your barrier recover. Then restart at a lower frequency. That is over-exfoliation, not the product working.
How long until I see results?
Texture and radiance often improve within two to three weeks. Pigmentation and uneven tone take eight to twelve weeks of consistent use alongside daily sunscreen.
Buying Medicube in Kuwait
EmartGCC supplies 100% original Medicube with delivery across Kuwait, usually next day, cash on delivery available and a 14-day return window on unopened items. Store it out of direct sunlight and heat — citrus oils and acids are both affected by prolonged warmth.
