Which of the three COSRX patches to buy

All three are hydrocolloid and heal a spot the same way — they absorb fluid from an open blemish and keep it covered. Choosing between them is about thickness, size range and count, not about how well they work.

This one is the thin, flat option. It sits closer to the skin and blends better, which is what you want for wearing to work or under makeup. The trade-off is capacity: a thinner patch holds less fluid, so on a very actively weeping spot it saturates sooner and needs replacing where a thicker patch would have lasted the night.

For overnight use on a spot that is genuinely leaking, the standard Acne Pimple Master with its assorted sizes is the better pick. The AC Collection patch sits with the acne-focused AC line. Many people keep a thin pack for days and a thicker pack for nights.

The usual limitation still applies to all three: on a closed bump under the skin there is nothing to absorb, so the patch mainly serves to stop you picking.

How to use it

1. Apply to clean, completely dry skin — before any serum, cream or makeup.
2. Pick a patch wider than the spot so the edge seals onto clear skin.
3. Press down for a few seconds so the whole patch makes contact.
4. Apply makeup over the top if wearing it out, and replace once it turns white.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from the Acne Pimple Master?

Same mechanism, different build. This is thinner and less visible, suited to daytime; the Acne Pimple Master is thicker with assorted sizes, better for overnight and heavier spots.

Is it really invisible?

Low-visibility rather than invisible. Up close it can still be seen, but it is far less noticeable than a thick patch and takes makeup well.

Can I put makeup over it?

Yes. Apply the patch to bare skin first, then foundation on top. Makeup underneath will stop it adhering.

Why did mine fall off?

Usually skin that was not fully dry, or product underneath. It can also happen on areas that move a lot — the chin and sides of the nose are the common culprits.

Does it work on cystic spots?

No. Deep cystic lesions have no opening for hydrocolloid to draw fluid from. A leave-on spot cream is more appropriate there.

How long can I leave one on?

Six hours to overnight. If it turns fully white before that, it is saturated and a fresh patch will do more.

Are 18 patches enough?

It depends entirely on how often you break out. For occasional spots a pack lasts months; for regular breakouts you will get through it quickly, and a patch-only approach is not the answer anyway.
