The mask and the oil solve different problems, which is why owning both is not redundant the way owning the mask and the conditioner is. The mask conditions in the shower and rinses off; the oil stays on the hair afterwards, and that is what handles the things that show up after you leave the bathroom — frizz on a humid day, dull ends, flyaways, and the friction of brushing and heat styling.

On heat protection specifically, it is worth being precise. A light oil layer does help by smoothing the cuticle and slowing how fast water leaves the hair shaft, and applying something before a hot tool is meaningfully better than applying nothing. It is not the same as a dedicated heat protectant with a stated temperature rating. If you blow-dry and straighten daily at high heat, treat this as a useful extra rather than your only line of defence — and turn the temperature down, which does more than any product.

Will it make my hair greasy?

Only if you use too much or apply it at the roots. One to two pumps on the mid-lengths and ends is the right starting point; the oil is formulated to be light, but no oil is forgiving about quantity.

Damp hair or dry hair?

Both work and they do slightly different things. On damp hair it distributes more evenly and helps control frizz as the hair dries. On dry hair it acts as a finisher for shine and flyaways. Many people do a small amount of each.

Is it a proper heat protectant?

Can I leave it in overnight?

Yes, an overnight application on the ends is a reasonable way to get more out of it. Use a towel or an old pillowcase, and wash it out in the morning.

Does it work on fine hair?

Do I still need this if I use the hair mask?
