Picking the right patch for the spot

The mixed sizes on the sheet are the practical advantage here, and most people underuse them. The rule is to pick a patch noticeably wider than the blemish, so the adhesive edge seals onto clear skin all the way around. A patch sized exactly to the spot sits on inflamed, uneven skin at its border and lifts within a few hours.

Why does the patch turn white?

Hydrocolloid needs an open surface. On a closed bump or a deep cystic spot there is no fluid to draw out, so the patch cannot help. A leave-on spot cream is the better tool for those.

Can I wear one during the day?

Yes. They are thin and blend reasonably well. Apply to bare skin first, then makeup on top — foundation underneath prevents adhesion.

Can I reuse a patch?
